Non-Toxic Eye Contour Creams

The skin around the eyes, like the one of the lips, is extremely delicate and porous and the proximity of the fine capillary vessels makes this zone very vulnerable to the ingredients present in the eye contour creams from where the need for paying more attention. The capillaries are the smallest blood vessels which exist in the human being and which connect the veinlets to the small arteries, thus closing the circle of the network of blood circulation. If you look with attention at the formulas of the eye contour creams you will notice that the ingredients are appreciably the same ones as for the facial creams, with different doses considering the fragility of the area and one or two ingredients more or whose concentration is higher. As Julie Gabriel recommends in her book The Green Beauty Guide and Gillian Deacon in There’ S Lead in Your Lipstick , it is not necessary to ruin yourself with products at exorbitant prices considering the tradition in the field: a good certified organic facial cream, with a short and clean formula without scenting substances is sufficient. As for me, butters and vegetable oils are my privileged choices, they are in multiple ways the active ingredients which are found in the compositions of the creams intended for this area of the face. The natural extracts of cucumber, camomile and green tea are particularly recommended for this area of the face. I use the eye contour cream when the circumstances do not enable me to use butters or oils since they are fattier. The wrinkles around the eyes are mainly due to genetics and exposure to the sun. A good and beautiful pair of sunglasses is a better investment than an eye contour cream of the conventional industry sold at an indecent price and which, moreover, could contain, as the Environmental Working Group has noted, the carcinogenic 1.4 dioxane (one third of the conventional eye contour creams). The rings under your eyes are also due to your genetic baggage as well as to your lack of sleep and tiredness. Nothing more effective than the traditional cucumber disc and if that does not work, you will understand why someone invented the hide eyerings products. One recommends anti-oxydants like vitamin C and B5, facial exercises which increase blood circulation and extract of the chestnut tree (used in the composition of several eye contour creams) which is anti-relieving congestion and which also stimulates blood circulation. Lastly, I am conscious that the progressive changes in your products will be better accommodated, so here are some.

Wild Rose Weleda Smoothing Eye Cream rated  1 on  Skin Deep .
Comments from Chantal : The scent makes me think of pastry…  The texture is not fatty at all. This cream leaves a “plaster feeling” on the skin, from where probably, the name of the cream: “smoothing” eye contour rather than “hydrating”. And that is exactly what it is. To adopt if one is young.

Many cosmetics contain chemical components which raise concerns amongst the population and many studies establish undeniable links between these chemical molecules which invade our life and the auto-immunes and neuro-degenerative diseases. The cosmetics industry puts substances dangerous for our health on the market and it is the same for food, pesticides, domestic household products and about everything that surrounds us. The responsibility of the chemical industry in this epidemic of environmental diseases is undeniable.

“What one asks the public to consider today as inoffensive can appear extremely dangerous tomorrow,” said Rachel Carson [4]   more than a half-century ago. Before the consequences are noted, one must establish facts, evidence without any doubt and one must prohibit certain substances. It’s the consumers who take the risks and pay for what is not known about the “extraordinarily cheap chemical innovations which want our good” whose rise is fulgurating. I have given all throughout this book  examples of dangerous substances which still are part of the lists of ingredients, others which were found in the composition of the cosmetic products and which were prohibited after tens of years of use or of others of which one discovers hardly the undesirable potential ( hydrolized corn proteins, the solar screen octocrylene). But cosmetics represent only one piece of the large chemical puzzle. At the beginning of the Forties, DDT was invented whose benefits for agriculture were considered to be miraculous. One sprinkles the complete planet with millions of tons of DDT to protect harvests against the insects. Prohibited since the beginning of the Seventies in North America, one learns that the consequences of its use are harmful as much for human beings as for the environment. Thanks to our formidable cellular memory, the consumption of potatoes infested with DDT has had consequences not only on the people of the era but also on several following generations.

The history of the Teflon stoves manufactured with PFC (per-fluoro-carbon) is not an urban legend: DuPont, the principal manufacturer of Teflon was condemned in December 2006 to a fine of 16.6 million dollars for having concealed, for more than twenty years, experimental studies showing that the exposure of human beings to PFC caused cancer of the liver and testicles, a reduction in weight at birth and a suppression of the immune system. [5]

My email box does not stop receiving slideshows bearing on the dangers of aspartame. Each year 16.000 tons of aspartame are found in more than 6000 foodstuffs. Although disputed for more than 40 years because of its carcinogenic incidences, this highly politicized sweetening substance has always been in force and is consumed universally by some 200 million people.  [6]

The examples are numerous and their recording is not the goal of this work. Take your precautions and take advantage of your rights of free choice before finding yourself in a new network to defend the victims of such or such a chemical ingredient.

[2] ↑ Acetyl Tetrapeptide-11 : is an agent skin conditioner (often used as anti-age) resulting from the reaction of acetic acid and tetrapeptide-11. The majority of the available peptides have a weak grade, but this is due to the limited data available to evaluate them.

[3] ↑  the exactitude of the formula is not guaranteed considering that several ingredients are repeated in the formula posted on the Website of the company, the same INCI must be named only once even if it is present in two or several ingredients.
